About 180 Ranch

180 Ranch brings together a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, doctoral-level experts, business and educational leaders, economic development professionals, and faith-based community leaders combining professional experience, community relationships, and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for West Virginia’s children and families.

We believe addressing a generational crisis requires more than a single program or service. It requires a coordinated, collaborative approach that brings together the people, resources, and expertise necessary to create lasting change.

180 Ranch is committed to helping West Virginia build a future where children impacted by foster care & addiction driven loss have access to safe homes, supportive relationships, comprehensive services, and meaningful opportunities to succeed.

Coal, Gas, Timber & Maritime are the economic lifeblood of WV yet most regional vocational schools offer very little to no certifications in these areas while students are still enrolled in high school or after. Students can get certifications prior to HS graduation in HVAC, Electrical and other critical vocations but not any of the WV economic pillars. This is a solvable issue that can help repair & produce a thriving home-grown workforce for generations to come.

Core Goals of The 180 Economic Pathway Partnership with 180 Ranch & Amerion College

  • Educational Accreditation – Certifications in Coal, Gas, Timber & Maritime (whatever else you want to add here) will be available for high school students through our partnership with Amerion both virtually and in-person.  Also, ranch alumni who are in permanent home placements will still be able to participate remotely in these certifications virtually when they reach 11thgrade.
  • Economical Acceleration – For every adult who is a full-time dependent on the State of WV through a mix of social services like Medicaid, housing, rehab and so on comes at a cost of ($75k) annually to WV taxpayers.  The average starting salary of an individual in the gas industry is $85k with a 25% taxable rate + 7% Purchase tax income.  This example alone turns ($75k) cost into +$25k in tax revenue for the State per adult.
