Classical Liberal Arts

Amerion College’s Classical Liberal Arts program is a journey of intellectual exploration combining a classical, Socratic approach with modern technology and methods. This associate degree program provides you with in-depth study of truth, beauty, and goodness, while grounding you in the principles of classical liberalism.

You will read and study challenging texts, deal with complex and controversial issues, and embody the principles of civil discourse and tolerance of differing opinions about fundamental issues.

A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND HYBRID PROGRAM

Spend ten weeks studying and engaging online in discussion and peer-learning activities. Then cap off each quarter by traveling to an interesting location for an intensive, immersion learning experience built around small-group, Socratic discussion.

These intimate, in-person experiences will bring alive your accumulated knowledge and begin to transform it into wisdom and application. You will then return home and begin studying new material before gathering a few weeks later to continue the discussions and reacquaint yourself with your conversation partners.

• Choose one of two paths: Culture and Heritage or PPE (politics, philosophy, and economics.
• Travel quarterly to interesting locations for intensive immersion experiences in intellectual discussion.
• Develop the critical thinking and analytical skills essential for success in today’s challenging and diverse world.
• Prepare for a life of intellectual richness in anything you pursue.
